FGB Young Gatekeepers Singapore & Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM) presents:
‘Seek the welfare of the city’ – Jeremiah 29:7
With speakers Dr. John Lennox & Stephen Lam of RZIM
*The session will be moderated by Richard Magnus, Retired Senior (now termed Chief) District Judge.
In our nation's Jubilee year, we are taking a long view of the next 50 years.
One significant issue is the moral narrative of our city State.
In "Death in the City", Francis Schaeffer writes about the death of a city; the moral and spiritual death that subtly suffocates truth and meaning and beauty out of the city and the wider culture.
In Jeremiah, we see the collapse of a great nation. While the rulers and people continue to proclaim that all was well, that there was peace in the city, the nation crumbled once the moral and spiritual foundation of the people, on which it had been built had been altered. There is more than the pursuit of personal peace, affluence and pleasure. Jeremiah witnessed the fall of a nation.
We have invited two world renowned witnesses of post modern societies. They have researched, written, spoken, debated, engaged with rulers and city leaders, the academia and the think tanks, businessmen and the man in the commons on the moral and spiritual consequences of the choices that ancient people and countries face.
We are pleased to invite you to a forum with Dr John Lennox and Mr Stephen Lam which can help to inform us of our nation's moral and spiritual narratives in the next 50 years.
Their bios speak for them. The Young Gatekeepers' Gathering, an event, jointly organised by FGB Gatekeepers Singapore and Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM), will be on Saturday 12th September 2015 at 9.00 am - 12.00pm at the Pavilion@Far East Square, China Street, Singapore 049561.
